christian or human?

ive been thinking about this for a while now. and it all started about a year or more ago. i was walking down gentlemans walk in norwich. a certain church was preaching at people on the street and generaly naffing everyone off, when this homeless guy comes up to me and asks me for some money. i offered to buy him a hotdog in stead of cash and he said yeah. he was well munching into it when he turned and said to me "humph i asked all those christians to help me but they didnt want to. wouldnet even buy me a hotdog" i felt so angry and ashamed. i told him that i was a christian, then we said goodbye. my blood was boiling at these so called christians who wouldent even buy the homless guy some food! heres me struggleing with my faith, really finding god stuff hard, and these self proffesed christians making themselves feel good about stuff by pissing everyone off by preaching at them! man i was and still am so angry at that!

any how comeing back to my point. was it christian for me to do that?after all god tells us to look after the poor and help them and stuff. or was it just human of me? i dont know. sometimes it naffs me off when christians go on about doing the right thing the godly thing the "christian" thing, when to me half the time its the decent human thing to do. did jesus come to earth to show us how to be a christian or how to be a human? i dont know. but when you look at his life jesus did awesome stuff to people that was really just a symple act of human kindness or should have been. we should be less christian/religious and more like jesus!

I guess I'd say it was the 'Jesus' thing to do. He would have been more like you in that situation, not those who refused to help him. Yes they're doing good stuff telling people about God etc. But in 1 John 3:17-18 says "Suppose someone has enough to live on and sees a brother or sister in need, but does not help. Then God's love is not living in that person. My children, we should love people not only with words and talk, but by our actions and true caring."

You could argue that all the good 'human' things that we do are 'Jesus' things, if God is the originator of all that is good

yeah that's true.

You could also say it's a 'Christian' thing to do, but I'm not sure I know what that means any more and it's often used wrongly
