recording
well the last three days my band lot55 has been in the recording studio doing a demo to sell and send away to relevant people. and its been very interesting. haveing never done any recording before i was looking forward to it. the first day we recorded as a band but actually recorded the drums and the bass. man the engineer was mikeing up the kit and it took well over 2 hours to just mike the drum kit up!!!!!! then a while to set my bass up but it was cool we did the first 2 song in the 1 or 2 takes. but the 3rd one took a little longer for no apparent reason. the 4th was a first taker. it was interesting coz i always think that recording is kinda a proof of the pudding senario. its when you find out how good you really are or not. coz it shows up every little mistake every little timing issue you cant get away from it. man yesterday the other 2 guys did just guitars alll day long and they still didnt finish the 4 tracks. i was a little miffed at this coz me and kevin (the drummer not the fruit bat) took only 2/3hours to do the lot, where as the guitar players took 8 hours to do half of what we done!!!!!!!!! i was concerend for recording to coz its being in close proximity with each other too that can be annoying. and i didnt want to piss anyone off, not that i would worrie if i did but these things can happen. but so far all is good. sotos the guy doing the recording is great hes such a cool chilled out dude and he knows his syuff!!!!! hes a little over keen on the reverb in places particularly on the snare drum but man hes soooooo good at his job!!! and all round general good egg. well today is finish off guitars day and vocals day im not looking forward to this as ive got to sing and am not a natural singer. oh well see how it gos.
